More than 9,000 students continue with their practical education in subjects for building and engineering projects thanks to the Campus version of CYPE and BIMserver.center

Teachers and students at universities that have these agreements can freely work from home with the software licenses, without their learning being disrupted

The number of users this academic year is higher than the previous year (2018-2019) due to the suspension of face-to-face classes at academic centres

Teachers’ need to more efficiently review the projects created by their students is encouraging the use of Open BIM technology though the BIMserver.center Education platform

Thanks to the “Campus Version” agreements that universities have with CYPE, more than 9,000 university students in Spain are able to continue their practical education with the use of CYPE software from home, after the suspension of face-to-face classes due to the economic and social consequences of the COVID-19 crisis.

The “Campus Version”, available since 2010, allows teachers and students to freely work with the software licenses and use them both in public networks operating under Eduroam premises (Education roaming) and in students’ homes.

The “Campus Version” of CYPE is available at more than 80 universities around the world, with a notable presence in Spain, France, Morocco, Brazil and Latin America. How can I get the CYPE Campus Version at my university?

How can I get the CYPE Campus Version at my university?

The “Campus Version” allows for CYPE programs and modules to be run at a university for a specific time, usually an academic year. Teachers and students at universities with these active licenses can access the Campus Version by entering a key provided by CYPE.

In the case that the university does not have campus licenses, teachers should contact CYPE using this form so that the software company can inform them how to introduce this version at their university.

Promoting BIM training

Thanks to the adaptation of CYPE programs to Open BIM technology, students and teachers are taking advantage of the current context to expand their knowledge on BIM methodology and workflows. According to Benjamín González, Director of Corporate Development at CYPE, “many teachers ask us to help them review their student’s projects more efficiently”, which is why “we recommend the use of the BIMserver.center Education cloud platform, which allows teachers to develop, manage and supervise projects in real time”.

“BIMserver.center is a platform that is specially designed and intended to be used both at universities and educational centres. It allows teachers and students to work in the same environment with security, and with the possibility of creating, sharing and developing construction projects based on Open BIM technology”, explains Benjamín González.
